Kickstarter Zombie Defense iPhone App

I’ve started a new project on Kickstarter.com, and it’s built around one of my many many loves: Zombies. Brandon and I had the idea a few months ago to build a really kickass Zombie Defense app for the iPhone. We put together all the ideas we had for it, and the features we wanted it to be capable of, but that led to problem #1: Neither of us had any idea how to program for the iPhone. I tried. I failed. It wasn’t pretty. So we decided to hire out the work and get someone else to do the programming for us. This led us to problem #2: Neither of us had any money to spare to hire someone. This is where Kickstarter.com comes in.

Kickstarter is an awesome new site that lets you ask for pledges/donations to fund a project that you have. You can even setup rewards for people that pledge a certain amount. Meaning you can in essence pre-sell an application that you don’t have the means to build at the moment. It’s an incredibly cool setup, and I’m amazed someone hasn’t done it before. Right now it’s invite only, but eventually they plan on opening it up much more.

Make sure you check out the Zombie Defense iPhone App on Kickstarter, and if you feel so inclined, pledge a couple of bucks. Also, I have just one more invite left to give out for Kickstarter, so if you have the next great idea, but not the means, let me know!

Don’t suppose you still have that invitation lying around?

It saddens me to see the destructive wild fires that occur yearly in places like Australia, California, Europe and other areas. Natural resources are lost as well as property, homes, keepsakes, photo’s and more tragically lives. For me it is even more unbearable because I have a new fire fighting technique that will cost much less but be up to twice as effective. People who can help, Like Arnold Schwarzenegge have understandably insulated themselves from the general public. I need funds to be able to demonstrate this technique to the press. Please invite me. Thanks

You don’t know me but I had the opportunity to check out your blog and kickstarter.com. I’m an aspiring fashion designer looking for backing to start my own clothing line. I want to create graphic tees that encourage women’s empowerment and promote domestic violence awareness and prevention. Some time ago you posted a blog that you had an invite for those serious about creating a real project for people to back. I am serious about this project and hoping you still have an invite you’d be willing to give to me. Anywho, thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Heh, like the others I’m lookin’ for an invite. Not as altruistic as fire prevention, though. I’m a glass artist trying to setup a studio. I’m all for bartering, as that will be the main economy post Z-day. Got a Zombie design you’d like to see in glass? Lemme know and look for me on Kickstarter.

Congrats on the funding initiative! Looks like you have had interest already in your kickstarter invite: I too am vying for attention. I founded BK Farmyards this year, a decentralized urban farm based in Brooklyn. We partner with homeowners, developers, and schools to transform idle land to farmyard to strengthen the local food network and enhance the health of our community, our culture, and our environment. We currently have two backyard farms in Ditmas Park and we harvest twice a week for a 6 memeber CSA. We hope to expand next year significantly and want to try to document the funding process on kickstarter. Check out our website at http://www.bkfarmyards.com
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
    Best,
    Stacey
