When I was still working over at TV Squad, I wrote a piece called I want a date with Stacy Keibler. Well, this past weekend I not only finally got to meet my former boss at TV Squad, Keith McDuffee, but also the chance to at least talk to Stacy.

It was at an ABC Family Party that Keith was nice enough to drag me along to, and Stacy was there. So after a little liquid courage, a little prodding from Keith, I got up the nerve…. and totally wussed out.

You won this round fate, but I’ve now rededicated myself to the cause. It’s on.

Certainly one of the most inspirational stories of the past year was that of Randy Pausch. The Carnegie Mellon professor, who was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, delivered a famous monologue last year with his Last Lecture. If you haven’t taken the time to watch it, please do.

Randy passed away this past Friday at home surrounded by his family.

I feel like a recent episode of Lost, I HAVE to go back. We have to find a way. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I spent last Friday night at The Playboy Mansion. No matter how awesome you think it is, multiply that by roughly 8,000. It was THAT cool. Hef sitting in his smoking jacket, the exotic animals, the trampolines, women dancing on platforms out in the middle of the pool, I saw it all.

For me, the most surreal moment was sitting in the infamous grotto having a drink with the guys. Such an amazing night.

Well, that didn’t go so well. At least during last year’s BCS Championship Game I was in San Francisco, out eating some fantastic chinese food with the guys from TUAW. This year, I was at home (I got an invite to go to a party down in Hollywood to watch it, but turned it down because I forgot I now have a reliable vehicle), watching LSU play a much better game while taking down the last of the christmas decorations and generally throwing things that shouldn’t be thrown.

Mr. Biro and I were talking within just the past week or so how we wish it was possible to “bottle momentum”; the Buckeyes could have used a big ol swig of that last night at a couple of points. Although disappointing that they lost, it has been fun that the Bucks gotten to the big game two years in a row and have a very very young team, so next year should be a lot of fun. I still think the BCS is a complete mess, a playoff setup would be more rewarding and fun, allowing those longshots and wildcards to have a cinderella-type post-season ala March Madness or the NFL playoffs. What sucks is this season was exactly what the BCS hoped for since day one: every game during those last few weeks of the season “meant something.”

Tangent aside, congrats are in order for both The Ohio State University and LSU, both had fantastic seasons, and one of them played a fantastic game last night.

The universe is a weird wild place. It always seems to give you what you need when you need it, whether you know it or not. This past month and a half or so have been pretty sh!tty for me and I’ve been trying to avoid writing about them, but things are going really good now. Plus, to top it off, a really good friend I haven’t talked to in years just sent me an email. Very cool.
